This company serves all stops of Praiano from number 1 to number 15 (Piazza San Luca). It stops of course at the main ones 6-7-9-10-12-14-15! To get into Positano, your preferred bus stop must be SPONDA (the closest to Praiano) whilst on the way back, opt for the central Piazza Dei Mulini as you will be the initial passengers to board the bus that will board more people along the way to Praiano at the successive stops.

The service requires prepaid tickets and allows you to reserve seats and bring luggage on board. You can use the bus line to also reach Ravello or the starting point for the Agerola Path of the Gods. Here is the link for more details and bookings: CMS Amalfi Coast.
If you are departing from Praiano and need to go to Ravello or Agerola, you must first travel to Amalfi to purchase a ticket at the commute station. Then, you can search for and buy a new ticket to your final destination.
In addition, a private company called Amico Shuttle offers convenient transfers to and from Amalfi and Ravello.

Best method to reach us from Naples by public transport
If you are traveling on a budget and prefer to use regional transportation to reach us, here are our suggestions depending on your starting point in Naples—either from the city center / Napoli Centrale train station / port, or from the Naples Airport. Please note that, unfortunately, there are no direct public buses or trains to Praiano.
If Your Trip Starts from Naples Town Centre
Recommended Route: Train + Bus via Sorrento
1. Train: Naples → Sorrento
-
Catch the Circumvesuviana (EAV regional train) from Napoli Centrale or Napoli Porta Nolana to Sorrento.
-
Trains run approximately every 25–30 minutes, with a journey time of about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
-
Ticket cost: €4. Purchase paper tickets directly at the station.
-
Tips:
-
Board at Porta Nolana for a better chance of seating—overcrowding is common at Central.
-
Trains cannot be reserved.
-
Stay alert—crowding can attract pickpockets.
-
-
Timetables are available at https://www.eavsrl.it/orari-linee-ferroviarie/
2. Bus: Sorrento → Praiano
-
From Sorrento station, take the SITA Sud coastal bus toward Amalfi or Positano. The bus stops in Praiano, and the ride takes about 45 minutes.
-
Ticket cost: approximately €3.50.
-
Where to buy tickets:
-
At Sorrento station: tabacchi, newsstands, cafés.
-
Online via the Unico Campania or DropTicket apps—see our download links on this page.
-
-
Don’t forget to validate your paper or digital ticket onboard before sitting.
Alternative (Scenic)
Option: Ferry Route (Seasonal and we discourage this option as Praiano has no ferry station!)
-
Available April–October.
-
Take a ferry from Naples to Positano, then a short bus or taxi ride to Praiano.
-
Travel time: approximately 1.5 hours.
-
Pros: Scenic and comfortable; Cons: Weather-dependent and less frequent.
If Your Trip Starts at Naples International Airport (NAP)
Option 1: Fastest Method (~2 h 45 min total)
-
Take the direct CURRERI bus from Naples Airport to Sorrento:
-
See details at: https://www.curreriviaggi.it/en/naples-airport-shuttle
-
Cost: around €13 per person.
-
-
From Sorrento station, catch the SITA Sud coastal bus to Praiano (~45 minutes, cost €3.50).
-
Tip: Ask your host for the best Praiano bus stop, as the main road is long and stops are abundant—getting off at the right one makes your arrival much smoother.
Option 2: Alternative Route (~3 h 30 min total)
-
If the Curreri bus isn’t available, take the Alibus to Napoli Centrale:
-
From Napoli Centrale or Porta Nolana, board the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento (see details in the city-centre section above) or use https://www.eavsrl.it/orari-linee-ferroviarie/.
-
Then continue with the SITA Sud bus from Sorrento to Praiano as usual (cost €3.50).

SITASUD does NOT allow passengers to use its bus rides unless you board on the vehicle with a regular valid ticket and clip/validate in the machine on the bus before you take seat. Tickets can be purchased at newsagents, Tabacchi stores and many bars of the area. Ask to the vendor the correct ticket as the cost differ based on your destination.

Bus users will also have the option to purchase tickets on-line using the handy App of UnicoCampania, available in 3 languages (English-Italian-German).
Unico Campania App can be downloaded from Google App (Unico Campania - App su Google Play)
Or IPhone (UNICO Campania app su App Store (apple.com). Get to the section of *Buy Ticket*, then click on the logo of SITA SUD Campania. Then “Biglietti a tariffa Fissa” and next select “Spostamenti altri comuni”. Choose the ticket based on the “price” do not look for arrival/departure town as they are not all listed. Buy the number of tickets you need; you must do the purchase before boarding the bus (even a day prior) and when or just seconds before boarding the bus, ACTIVATE the tickets to be valid.
There is a new App, we recently discovered and seems MUCH easier to use. It is called DROP TICKET available at this link https://shop.dropticket.it/ . We built a tutorial on how to use it at this LINK HERE. Get the Pdf and start using it!

Praiano Interno
Local bus looping Praiano

Interno Praiano local Bus local bus line loops the entire village of Praiano constantly until late at night. The company buses stop all shelters from number 1 to number 25.
On the linked schedule you will see listed only its main bus stops which are considered the terminal stops of the main roads of Praiano.
Let’s say you are along via Costantinopoli, the upper part of Praiano, and you are close to bus stop 19, you must consider the terminal stop 22 to determine the approximate time the bus passes by you. As you will only see listed on the schedule the number 22 via Cella; but the bus to reach nr 22 must drive and obviously stops at nr.19. So, whoever is between bus stop 16 and 22, must check time for nr. 22.
Some suggestions when using this bus:
Passengers that must be dropped along via Umberto I are the luckiest as the bus terminates there at each loop, so they will be always served 😊
Guests residing around Via San Giuliano should rather use bus stop 17, as the driver might drive by 23-24-25 on request!
Whoever is by bus stop 15 is in a great position as the bus gets to there at each loop 2 times.
Bus nr 9 or the central 7 is served constantly. And tourist that are in the upper part of Praiano whenever they want to use the Sitasud might consider the local bus rides to get to them to commute with Sitasud.
Passengers are requested to have a valid paper ticket. It is not allowed to pay by App or cards yet on this bus. Tickets can be purchased on the bus and in cash at € 2 each ride No cards option available. Please have small bills or coins to pay the driver. The price for a single ride, if you purchase paper ticket
in advance at the stores, it is Euro 1,00
